Leek Blues & Americana Festival
October 2019
Once again we sponsored and hosted the Leek Blues & Americana Sparrow Park Outdoor Stage.................... Well...... this year it ended up being the Foxlowe Arts Centre Indoor stage. With the rain coming down hard we tried to set up the stage and music equipment but it just wouldn't have been safe. So not to be beaten it was all systems go for Plan B at the Foxlowe Arys Centre.
We were once again using this as an opportunity to help raise some money for charity. The festival was already supporting Music Against Homelessness, and we also wanted to support the local Foodbank again. On the day we collected an awesome £141.60, which we topped up to £150, we donated £50 to The Leek & District Foodbank and added £100 to the Music Against Homelessness pot which came to £500, an absolutely fantastic effort and thanks to everyone who threw a few quid in.
The weather didn't stop us and we had an amazing day at the Foxlowe. A little delayed Aprille & The Shower kicked the music off in the front cafe room with there original bluegrass sounds. First up on the Stage was one of our faves back from last year Lil Jim rocking us with his electric accordion playing, rocking the socks off the crowd, don't believe check out the videos below.
Back in the Front room Pig Man was entertaining the cafe goers with his rustic acoustic sounds. Finishing off our day on the main stage was the fantastic Sister Suzi & The Right Band, who entertained us, got us all dancing and cooed the kids.
All in it turned out to be another fantastic day, and we'll be back again next year so watch this space.
